ACCESS SAFETY SYSTEMS

A purpose installed access system is a necessary requirement for external maintenance and repairs of most buildings

Access Safety Systems are designed for 2 main purposes.

1. Access to Roofs
2. Access to Facades

Some of the components include - Anchor Points, Rails, Static lines, Davits, Roof Jockeys, Ladders, Walkways

Anchor systems are most commonly the structural basis off which abseiling work can be performed, as well as for fall restraint and fall arrest systems. Anchors are permanent or temporary fixtures, varying in materials and design to suit site specific requirements including the proposed usage of the safety systems, and the surface into which the anchors are installed e.g brick work, cement, colour bond roofing, steel etc. Anchors fabrication can range from chemical set anchors and the mechanical set.

OneVision's accredited staff perform annual anchor certifications on all safety systems installed. This ensures ongoing compliance with Australian & New Zealand Standards AS/NZ 4488 and AS/NZ 1891 codes.

Anchor systems are certified or approved according to kN - Kilo Newtons – measuring the hold of a “load” e.g. an abseiler or in the event of an accident the accelerated friction weight loads e.g. fall restraint. Legislation outlines the following:

* As far as practicable all single point one person anchorages should meet the 15kN requirement regardless of primary purpose
* The maximum number of people connected to any one point shall be two and the anchorage point must be rated to a minimum of 21kN

Anchor systems are a cost effective height safety solution, they are less obtrusive than many on the market, they are easy to use and they require minimal maintenance.

Annual Re-Certification is inclusive of installation, testing and certification valid for 12 months.
